Darren Palmer’s Bondi family home

Kinsman is proud to announce that we have partnered with interior designer and The Block judge Darren Palmer to transform his family home in Sydney’s iconic coastal suburb Bondi. The kitchen renovation was central to the makeover as well as a new laundry, home office and a series of wardrobes.

Due to its beachy location, the colour palette brief was a contemporary coastal aesthetic. Kinsman’s Coastal Oak Woodmatt doors were the perfect pick, particularly as Darren selected our Avalon design which features beautiful V-groove detailing. We then paired the timber-look cabinetry with crisp white handles to bring the look together.

The Kinsman Kitchen, located upstairs, is truly the heart of the home that Darren shares with his husband Olivier and their son. It’s full of ‘wow factor’ with the banks of Avalon Coastal Oak Woodmatt cabinetry and White Matt Knurled Bar handles taking centre stage. Balancing form and function, the room contains a myriad of clever kitchen design features, from integrated appliances to a statement island bench which doubles as a casual dining area.

Rather than creating a standalone laundry, the laundry room has been combined with a powder room. This multifunctional space ticks all the boxes – from plenty of bench space for folding clothing, room for high-end laundry appliances and plenty of storage. It’s a clever use of space that maximises the floorplan Darren had available.

In addition to the kitchen and laundry, the home also features a home office and a series of wardrobes. The master suite features not one but two wardrobes, offering a wealth of much-needed storage. Our sophisticated Grigio Pelle beige wardrobe doors feature a leather like finish and have been teamed with our new Mini Leather Pull handles in Tan. The built in wardrobe in the main part of the bedroom offers open shelving and soft-close drawers, while the walk-through wardrobe which connects the master bedroom to the ensuite exclusively features hanging space.

The light-filled guest bedroom wardrobe features a beautiful seating bench with concealed storage underneath, while the home office is simple yet effective, offering space for two people to work or study with added storage thanks to soft close drawers.
