The Block 2024 guest bedroom reveals

Motivated by the thought of upgrading their tents for a resort-style bedroom, the blockheads dedicated their second week on The Block on delivering five stunning guest bedrooms, each complete with an impressive Kinsman Wardrobe. Brimming with wardrobe ideas, each built-in wardrobe offers plenty of style and storage, essential for any wardrobe renovation, with Kristian and Mimi securing their second consecutive win with a wardrobe that truly has ‘wow factor’!

Read on to explore each room in more detail.

House 1: Jesse and Paige

Score: 27/30

Place: 3rd

Jesse and Paige selected Kinsman’s new shade Wheat Matt for their first guest bedroom wardrobe doors – a stunning yet understated soft shade of chalky white. Paired with Oak Woodgrain interior finishes and Brushed Dark Brass handles, the contemporary palette complements the rest of the room.

Upon opening the hinged doors, a wealth of storage and organisational space is available thanks to the clever mixture of full and half hanging space, open shelves, and soft-close Matrix drawers. Adding to the luxe feel, the interiors of the wardrobe are illuminated with LED Bar lighting which is activated with sensors.

Shaynna Blaze commended the couple for running the wardrobe wall-to-wall and noted all the inclusions that it offers as well as the colour scheme. “When I walked in here, it immediately feels like home,” smiles Marty Fox. All three judges agreed that if Jesse and Paige continue this look throughout their home then it will be an incredible space.

Key Features:

  • Doors: NEW Wheat Matt
  • Interior Finish: Oak Woodgrain
  • Handles: Brushed Dark Brass 280mm (38-M-51)
  • Accessories: Hanging rails and hinges in Black, Matrix Drawers

House 2: Courtney and Grant

Score: 27.5/30

Place: 2nd

Courtney and Grant’s wardrobe is the perfect addition to their cosy and inviting children’s bedroom. The timber tones of Kinsman’s Oak Woodgrain wardrobe doors complement the room to perfection- evoking the warmth and beauty of natural timber.

Bold Square Hook handles in Matt Black add a modern touch, and the desk transforms the design into a multifunctional space as it can be used as a desk or makeup table- a detail that all the judged noticed and loved. Behind the hinged doors lies plenty of bedroom storage with the inclusion of hanging space, soft-close drawers, and open shelves.

The judges loved the bedroom, stating that it was full of personality, beautiful details and a stunning colour scheme, but unfortunately the Sydney couple were beaten yet again by House 5 by just half a point!

House 3: Ricky and Haydn

Score: 22/30

Place: 4th

Wishing to make a statement with their guest bedroom, which caters to teenagers, Ricky and Haydn selected Kinsman’s Fresh White Satin for their wardrobe doors, covering them with a “Wild World” by Anton Thomas graphic.

To complement the look, the pair selected bold Black Bar handles and French Linen for the interiors of the robe. Hafele LED Bar Lights with Sensors allow easy viewing of the generous storage which is created from a blend of soft-close drawers, open shelves, and hanging space.

While the judges questioned some of the key design elements found throughout the room, they all loved the wardrobe, calling it the ‘hero’ of the space – both due to its exterior and the interiors which offer plenty of storage and organisation.

  • Doors: Fresh White Satin (covered with Grafico Wallpaper)
  • Interior Finish: French Linen
  • Handles: Black Bar (12-K-80)

House 3 week 1 wardrobes

House 4: Kylie and Brad

Score: 22/30

Place: 4th

Still trying to find the balance between their love of black interiors, and the feedback from the judges the week before, Kylie & Brad’s guest bedroom strikes a happy medium. Stylish and bold, their wardrobe is an eye-catching design element in the space.

A modern yet timeless colour palette has been created by Volcanic Black doors, paired with Oak Woodgrain interiors and Kinsman’s new Terrazzo White Knob handles. With space for everything, storage of clothes, accessories and shoes is a breeze with the blend of soft-close drawers, open shelving, and plenty of hanging space.

Their biggest critic last week, Marty was the couple’s biggest supporter of this room. “This is palatable, this is marketable. This is a room where if you had ten buyers come through you wouldn’t be jarring half of them like last week,” he explained. I want to commend them on taking on some pretty harsh feedback but staying true to who they are.”

Key Features:

  • Doors: Volcanic Black
  • Interior Finish: Oak Woodgrain
  • Handles: NEW Terrazzo White Knob (65-D-50)
  • Accessories: Hanging rails and hinges in Black, Matrix Drawers
  • Lighting: Häfele LED Bar Lights with Sensors

House 5: Kristian and Mimi

Score: 28/30

Place: WINNERS

Bursting with colour and storage, Kristian and Mimi’s wardrobe blends style and functionality. Featuring statement green doors in our Bonsai colourway with new Knurled Bronze T Bar handles and Oak Woodgrain interiors, the look is warm and inviting.

A mixture of hanging space, open shelving, and soft close drawers provide an abundance of organisation space; while the clever open shelving allows for styling décor and can be viewed as soon as you step into the room.

“To me, this isn’t saying beach, this is saying boutique hotel,” Shaynna said. “The wardrobes are stunning, complementing the green of the bedhead and artwork which is actually quite clever as there will be greenery outside as well.” With so much positive feedback, including the way in which the bedroom connects aesthetically to the next-door bathroom, this winning room is ticking a lot of boxes!

Key Features:

  • Doors: Bonsai
  • Interior Finish: Oak Woodgrain
  • Handles: NEW Knurled Bronze T Bar (38-E-1)
  • Accessories: Hanging rails and hinges in Black, Matrix Drawers
