The Block 2024 Main Bedroom and Walk-in Wardrobe Reveals

This week saw the blockheads manage the biggest renovation of The Block so far, creating their Main Bedrooms and Master Walk-in Wardrobes. And Kinsman was here to help them through the process, with our extensive range of wardrobe ideas, doors, handles, internal finishes and wardrobe storage solutions coming together to create five incredible spaces that complemented their main bedrooms and the rest of their homes.

Discover each wardrobe in more detail and hear what the judges Darren Palmer, Shaynna Blaze and Marty Fox had to say.  Which is your dream design and style?

House 1: Maddy and Charlotte

Score: 24.5

Place: 3rd

Maddy & Charlotte H1 Main Bedroom Walk-in Wardrobe

New kids on The Block, Maddy and Charlotte certainly had their work cut out for them this week. Replacing Jesse and Paige and tasked with completing House 1, the sisters had the biggest renovation to date- creating a main bedroom suite with a stunning walk-in wardrobe. What the other contestants don’t know however, is that they are house flippers- with four homes completed and three still in the works! We can’t wait to see what this dup has in store for the rest of their home!

With guidance from former contestants, Ronnie and Georgia, the girl’s Master Walk-in Wardrobe is what dreams are made of! Boasting Kinsman’s new Neutral Stone Matt doors and Chestnut Woodmatt interior finishes, the colour palette is organic and sophisticated. The Bronze Bar handles are also new to the Kinsman Wardrobes range, adding the perfect metallic touch.

The judges loved what they saw. “Wow!” exclaimed Shaynna as soon as she stepped inside. All three loved the design, the storage and the style. “Walnut is definitely on trend,” explained Darren. “These warm greys, definitely on trend. They have been given a real gift here.”

The pair selected a combination of closed storage and feature open shelving for more decorative items to be displayed on Black Frame Glass Shelving. Easy access drawers below the doors allow for deep storage. In fact, clever organisation is a key focus within the design, seen in the inclusion of Häfele Conero accessories from Hanging Rails, Shoe Fences, Jewellery Trays, to the Tie & Belt Pull-out, creating a wardrobe that makes getting ready an enjoyable experience.

Courtney & Grant House 2 The Block Main Bedroom Walk-in wardrobe
House 2 Courtney & Grant Main Bedroom Walk-in wardrobe the block

With their love for a ‘Moditerranean’ aesthetic, Courtney and Grant set out to wow the judges with a statement main bedroom and walk-in wardrobe. And wow they did, so much so that Marty Fox has asked Nine if he can register to be a bidder come Auction Day!

“The detail, the planning, the fact that they can pull this together in the space of a week, blows my mind,” he said. “It’s just at a different level. These guys are operating in a league of their own.”

Their galley-style walk-in Master Wardrobe complements their Master Bedroom to perfection. The pair thoughtfully created a design featuring a mixture of open and hidden storage options. Oak Woodgrain internals have been used throughout, paired with our beautiful Grigio Pelle leather-like doors and new Champagne Bronze handles for a chic and classic look.

“The palette is divine”, exclaimed Shaynna. “I love the consistency of the stone, the lighting, the colours. And the colour of that [timber] matched against this leather-look finish is just [chef’s kiss],” added Marty.

The robe is a haven of organisation and inspiration with luxury extras from the Häfele Conero collection and Warm LED Verti-Strip and Bar lighting. The lighting scheme adds form and function to the design, highlighting the clothing and accessories thoughtfully stored within the combination of hanging, shelving, and drawer solutions. The makeup desk is another addition that is bound to win the hearts of the new owners. It’s really no wonder that the couple enjoyed their first win of the season, even if it was tie between them and House 5.

House 3: Ricky and Haydn

Score: 21.5

Place: 4th

Best friends Ricky and Hayden had another challenging week on The Block, with miscommunication regarding their flooring selection setting them back a few hours, which ultimately meant that they presented an unfinished room. Understandably the judge’s reflected this in their scores, however, there was still so much to love about their room this week- with their Kinsman Wardrobe a highlight!

Sleek and modern, Ricky and Haydn’s walk-in wardrobe connects the master bedroom to the nearby ensuite. To ensure this walk-through space is visually appealing and easy to keep organised, the design features a blend of hidden and open joinery. A monochromatic colour scheme has been created with Classic White Matt doors and Estella Oak interiors. Kinsman’s new Harbour wardrobe doors showcase an eye-catching scalloped profile and have been paired with sleek Black Frame Glass Shelves and Bronze Bar handles, producing a luxurious and appealing look.

“Oh, this is grand! Wow!” said Darren walking into the space. “So, you get all of this additional storage that the other floorplan design does not give.” He also loved the Harbour wardrobe doors stating, “I love these doors- they are glorious!”

With three banks of wardrobe cabinetry, there is no shortage of storage space! Organising clothing, accessories, and shoes is a breeze thanks to the careful selection of Häfele’s Conero accessories, which include Glass Front Drawers, Wardrobe Lifts, Tie/Belt Pull-out, Trouser Pull-out, Flocked Liners, Jewellery Trays, and Shoe Rails inside the drawers. LED Bar Lights with sensors illuminate hanging space, soft-close drawers, and open shelving.

House 4: Kylie and Brad

Score: 27.5

Place: 2nd

House 4: Kylie and Brad Main Bedroom Walk-in Wardrobe The Block

With their bold design aesthetic and colour palette, Kylie and Brad stepped into their own this week with a main suite and walk-in robe that felt not just very them but very appealing to the judges and potential buyers too.

“I am so in love with this. Oh my gosh. Yum!” said Darren. “We’re in a really classy, luxe, sophisticated main bedroom suite that could be in any holiday destination, and it feels just right. I’m so excited for it.”

Kylie and Brad presented not one, but two wardrobe spaces this week! The first is the galley-style Walk-In wardrobe with a colour palette that is warm and welcoming, enhanced by neutral tones of Kinsman’s Oak Woodgrain internals and stylish Black Frame Glass Shelves. The duo chose to keep the joinery open to create a sense of opulence and space.

“It’s like walking into a jewellery box,” smiled Darren. All the judge appreciated the style and storage of the wardrobe, noting that it’s bringing the look and feel of their bedroom and house together.

In contrast to this natural and organic palette, the pair then included a statement make-up dresser within the bedroom itself. Here, the style is bold and modern, featuring our luxurious Aluminium Framed doors with Acrylic Inserts which are illuminated by vertical strip lighting. Getting ready has never looked so good!

“This amenity is phenomenal, because this is extra storage, and an area that was missing from the other [houses],” said Marty. These guys are actually allowing the buyer to enjoy the entire space which is really unique!”

The pair decided not to play their penguin again, even though if they had they would have won (again). Will these two ever use it, or are they seriously planning on taking it home with them? Only time will tell we suppose!

House 5: Mimi and Kristian Main Bedroom Walk-in Wardrobes The Block

The judges were blown away yet again by Mimi and Kristian’s bedroom design- these two really know their stuff, they’ve have won every bedroom week so far on the show! “This takes my breath away,” said Shaynna.

The winning duo’s statement U-shaped walk-in wardrobe features our Shaker-style Sepia Budino Walnut doors and new Champagne Bronze Bar handles. Since the wardrobe is visible from the main suite, the design features predominantly closed cabinetry, with decorative Black Frame Glass Shelves centrally placed to provide space for displaying fragrances, bags, jewellery, and other accessories.

“We have this massive walk-in robe! This doesn’t feel like a holiday house at all,” said Shaynna. “It’s a hotel,” finished Marty.

The French Linen interiors add an elegant touch, beautifully complementing the timber tones of the cabinetry. Storage is maximised throughout the wardrobe, thanks to Kristian and Mimi winning an impressive Salice Night Excessories package from Häfele the previous week. With features like a folding mirror, Glass Front Drawers, and Shoe Storage—not to mention a Gucci dress—this wardrobe ticks all the boxes!

In fact, the judge went searching for the Gucci pieces, and not only discovered them but also the beauty of the Kinsman joinery and the Hafele inclusions. “Oh, my goodness!” exclaimed Shaynna as she explored the wardrobe. “How stunning is this wardrobe and the inclusions?”
