5 Kitchen Sink & Tapware Trends for 2026/27, as Seen on The Block
Looking for the latest kitchen tapware and sink trends for 2026/27? Look no further than The Block. This season, all five Kinsman kitchens featured sinks and tapware from ABI Interiors, and together they offer a clear snapshot of where kitchen design is heading.
From Adam & Jolene’s winning coastal shaker design to Lisa & Rosco’s richly layered oak and arches, Courtney & Sev’s soft curves, Chantel & Wyatt’s classic neutrals and Rick & Tayla’s statement backlit splashback, each team brought a very different look to the heart of the home. Yet the same ideas kept appearing: warm metallic finishes, sinks that match the tapware, filtered water on tap and hardworking butler’s pantries. With the Mount Eliza homes designed to appeal to today’s buyers, these aren’t passing fads. They’re a strong indication of what people will want in their kitchens for years to come.
The sink and tap are two of the most-used features in any kitchen, so it pays to get them right. We spoke with Luli Farrell, Co-Founder of ABI Interiors, about the trends she’s seeing and how to bring them into your own home.
“What stood out across this year’s kitchens was how naturally design and functionality came together. Homeowners no longer want to compromise between style and practicality. From statement finishes to multi-way taps and integrated filtration, we’re seeing a shift towards thoughtful design choices that make everyday tasks easier while embracing the kitchen’s role as the heart of the home: a place for gathering, entertaining, and connecting,” Luli explains.
Planning a kitchen renovation? Here are five kitchen sink and tapware trends for 2026/27, as seen on The Block 2026.

Trend 1: Warm metal tapware takes the lead
Three of the five houses chose warm finishes: Antique Bronze (Adam & Jolene -above left), brushed brass (Chantel & Wyatt- above middle) and brushed copper (Lisa & Rosco- above right). Courtney & Sev and Rick & Tayla show the softer, cooler alternative with stainless steel and brushed nickel.
Trend 2: Kitchen sink and tap as a matching set

Adam & Jolene’s Seba Sink in Antique Bronze and Lisa & Rosco’s Seba Sink in brushed copper were each paired with a matching Elysian Commercial Pull-Out Kitchen Mixer and waste. Coloured sinks transform the sink from a purely functional item into a design feature. The White Granite Vienna Sinks in Houses 2 and 5 are another example of a sink chosen for its looks.
Trend 3: Filtered water on tap
Filtered water is shifting from an upgrade to an expectation. Four of the five kitchens included a filter tap. Adam & Jolene and Chantel & Wyatt used the Mini Water Filter Tap (below left) alongside their primary kitchen tap, while Lisa & Rosco and Courtney & Sev (below right) chose the Elysian Commercial 3-Way Pull-Out Filter Tap for an all-in-one solution.

Trend 4: The butler’s pantry gets its own sink
The pantry is now a second work zone, so the main kitchen stays clear for entertaining. This makes a sink and tap essential in the pantry for easy clean-up duty!
Examples include the Vita Double Sinks in Houses 1 and 3, Courtney & Sev’s second Vari Sink, and Rick & Tayla’s Vienna Double Sink.
Trend 5: Kitchen taps that work harder
This trend groups the functional extras that truly elevate your kitchen: pull-out mixers (Houses 4 and 5), Adam & Jolene’s Pot Filler, Courtney & Sev’s bar sink with a filter tap, and the glass rinser in Chantel & Wyatt’s kitchen.

Kitchen sinks and taps designed for the way you live
The kitchens on The Block 2026 showed that your sink and tapware can do so much more than the basics. From warm metal finishes and matching sinks to filtered water and dedicated pantry sinks, these are the details that make a kitchen look beautiful and work hard every day.
