House 1 Kyle & Leslie

Score: 24

Place: 5th

Parents Kyle and Leslie took inspiration from their two young sons when designing their children’s bedrooms this week, designing two very different-yet equally stylish and functional rooms- that any child would love.

KIDS BEDROOM 1

Full of colour and storage, Kyle and Leslie designed a bedroom wardrobe that features plenty of storage and a study zone. Blue ‘Drift’ doors complement the other blue tones found throughout the basketball themed room and have been paired with Oak Woodgrain internals and Natural Ash Bar handles to create a fresh and welcoming colour palette. The wardrobe design includes an Oak Woodgrain desk and a section of open shelving for styling décor. Behind the hinged wardrobe doors, organising clothes and accessories is a breeze thanks to a combination of hanging space and soft-close drawers. The judges loved the storage and style the robe added to the room with Darren pointing out, “We have a great allocation for storage, and it doesn’t detract from the rest of the space.”

Key Features:

  • Doors: Drift
  • Interior Finish: Oak Woodgrain
  • Handles: Natural Ash Bar (38-M-06)
  • Accessories: Matrix Drawers, HäfeleBlack Hanging Rails

Described as “light and bright” by Shaynna, the judges felt that the second bedroom was in perfect keeping with the rest of Kyle and Leslie’s home. Soft curves and stylish green wardrobe cabinetry take centre stage in the wardrobe design. Mirroring the layout of the other kids’ bedroom wardrobe, this robe features a study zone with an Oak Woodgrain topped desk on one side and an open shelving on the other, both framed with Kinsman’s Arched Fascia Panels in Bonsai, a soothing and organic green tone. The curved panels also feature Verti-strip lighting, highlighting the Oak Woodgrain interior finish. A mixture of hanging space combined with soft-close Matrix Drawers.

“The neutral colour palette with the green is non-gender specific, which I think is super smart in all respects,” noted Darren.
