WOW-worthy Wardrobes from The Block 2020
Watching the Guest Bedrooms coming together on the first week of The Block Fans vs Faves reminds us of the incredible wardrobes we created with the Blockheads from The Block 2020. With a focus on balancing style with function, our wardrobe designs are intended to suit any home, style and budget. Read on as we take a look back at the wardrobes from each team that pulled on our heartstrings.
House 1: Harry & Tash. Master Bedroom.
Father and daughter duo Harry and Tash, created a spacious walk-in robe in their Master Bedroom which really wowed the judges! Shaker-style Somersby doors in White Matt have been paired with Estella Oak Natural interiors for a modern yet classic look. A makeup station sits at the heart of the robe featuring a Caesarstone® Statuario Maximus top and a Loox Mirror, our smart mirror which features a demister and in-built Bluetooth speaker. Beyond its stylish looks, the robe abounds with storage and smart accessories, including a Wardrobe Lift, Folding Mirror, Scarf Rack and Jewellery Compartment Trays.
House 2: Sarah & George. Guest Bedroom 3.
A statement Sliding Wardrobe was central to Sarah and George’s whimsical children’s bedroom in their Third Guest Bedroom. Earning a highly coveted win, which was also their first in the series, their wardrobe showcases a modern industrial colour palette created with the inclusion of Beton Texture exterior doors with a Black Sliding Door Frame, teamed with Brave Bow handles. Behind the doors lie Estella Oak Natural interiors and a plethora of storage and accessories, such as a Folding Mirror, hanging space, shelving and soft-close drawers, proving that sliding robes are a great option if space is limited but storage needs to be maximised.
House 3: Daniel & Jade. Guest Bedroom 2.
In a bold move, Daniel and Jade opted to split one Guest Bedroom into two, allowing them to gain an additional bedroom in their home! While the rooms may have been compact they each accommodated identical wardrobes that offered style, storage and functionality in spades. We love the open shelving beside the hinged doors, as they draw the eye to the wardrobe, offering the perfect spot for styling decor and accessories.
The neutral colour scheme is a great choice to allow the room to appear as large and light as possible. Somersby White Matt doors with their Shaker-profile detailing have been teamed with Thin Flat D Shaped handles in Champagne and Greige Textile Natural interior finishes, evoking a classic look with a touch of glam.
House 4: Luke & Jasmin. Guest Bedroom 2.
We love the simple yet eye-catching hinged wardrobe Luke and Jasmin created in their winning Second Guest Bedroom as it demonstrates how including timber-look cabinetry will add warmth and texture to your bedroom space. The couple selected Natural Oak Ravine exterior doors, which was very much in keeping with the rest of their home which featured a lot of timber, complementing their contemporary, coastal style.
With practicality and functionality at the forefront of the design, the couple chose to double-stack cabinets to maximise storage space. Opening up the doors with Ribe Black Stain Timber handles, Verti-Strip Lighting illuminates the Greige Textile Natural interiors and the contents of the robe which features hanging space, drawers, open shelves, and a Pull-out Mirror.
House 5: Jimmy & Tam. Guest Bedroom 3.
Jimmy and Tam opted for a pared-back Scandi look for their Hinged wardrobe within their Final Upstairs Bedroom, creating a black canvas for the new owners. The palette centred on white and timber-look finishes and statement handles showcased by White Satin doors, Natural Oak Matt interiors and Barcco Natural Ash handles.
A study nook sits to the side of the cabinetry, transforming the room into a multifunctional space. Simple, yet effective, it consists of a desk and a two shelves, all illuminated by two LED Downlights. With so many of us spending more time working from home, adding a small work space within your wardrobe layout is a highly effective design choice, especially if space is limited.
