Standout Storage Solutions from The Block 2021

There’s no denying the five kitchens produced on The Block this year are showstoppers that take centerstage in each of the homes. However, beyond their stunning looks, each space offers ample storage and clever organisational accessories to ensure that these kitchens are both stylish and functional. Between each team’s pantries and the storage they created within the main kitchen areas, there is a place for everything, and everything is in its place.

Below we look at each House and pick our favourite storage features within their kitchens. Which ones will you include in your new Kinsman Kitchen?

House 1: Open shelving & LeMans Corner Pull Out System

Ronnie and Georgia’s light and bright kitchen was inspired heavily by catering to a family, which is reflected in the generous amount of storage within cabinets and drawers throughout, the inclusion of a Butler’s Pantry, and an island bench which provides the perfect gathering point in the room.

The inclusion of a hidden butler’s pantry allows for plentiful storage, additional dishwasher, sink, and tap. Our highlight is the open shelving in Chadstone Prime Oak Woodmatt enables pantry staples to be put on display for easy access and provides styling opportunities. The personalised labels on all the canisters made us swoon!

Back in the main kitchen space, storage accessories such as Cross Wire Rails for Pot Drawers, Internal Drawers, and a Ninka Bin ensure that the kitchen is highly functional. We love the LeMans Corner Pull Out System, which allows easy access to those typically tricky corner cupboards!

House 2: Deep Drawers with Design Sides

Mitch and Mark’s decision to use drawers instead of a traditional tall pantry for dry food storage caused quite a stir for the judges! It ultimately resulted in the couple adding a tall pantry within their butler’s pantry during Laundry Week. Whichever camp you’re in, Kinsman has the solution to make either option work for storing dry pantry items to perfection.

The boys opted for drawers as they allow you to see and access the contents easily, making it a great option for a modern home cook and kitchen. Our deep drawers with Design Sides are a fantastic choice as they enable you to store even more items within the drawer while adding a beautiful and stylish feature. If a more traditional tall pantry appeals, we recommend including our Stainless Steel Internal Drawers so you can still access any pantry items with ease.

House 3: Archie Prime Oak Woodmatt Cabinetry with Broadline Glass

In keeping with the rest of their home, Tanya and Vito’s kitchen celebrates the couples’ love of the 1950s, colour, and personality. This is particularly evident in their jaw-dropping butler’s pantry, which perfectly balances various shapes, colours, and textures.

Our brand new Archie doors in Prime Oak offer an elegant arched detail and the warmth of timber- two design elements that are right on trend! The inclusion of the Broadline inserts adds a sense of elegance and lightness to the room, while the inclusion of LED downlights within the cabinetry highlights the contents within beautifully.

House 4: Glass Climbers Cabinets

Luke and Josh’s ultra-modern monochromatic kitchen complements the rest of their home beautifully. Wishing to blend functionality with a style that makes an architectural statement, the twins included several clever storage accessories and features within both the kitchen and pantry to cater to a busy family.

A hidden walk-in pantry complements the main kitchen area, hosting an additional sink and tap and bench space for prep- creating the perfect place to hide away mess while entertaining. A highlight within the design is the Glass Climbers Cabinets. At a fingers touch at the base of the cabinet, the glass frames raise electronically to reveal the contents within, while internal lighting automatically turns on as the doors lift!

House 5: Butler’s Kitchen & Stainless Steel Internal Drawers

Kirsty and Jesse’s winning kitchen wowed the judges – and the whole of Australia- with its stunning Montauk Ink cabinetry and Brass Patina Mesh door panels which evoked a stunning Hamptons style. The family-focused kitchen abounds with storage, courtesy of innovative accessories, to ensure room for everything. Cutlery Trays, Cross Wire Rails for Pot Drawers, Non-slip Drawer Matts, Internal Drawers, Stainless Steel Internal Drawer with Acrylic Base and Ninka Bins make organisation a breeze.

The impressive butler’s kitchen is a masterstroke, flowing seamlessly from the central kitchen. It houses more Bosch appliances, an extra sink and tap, a dishwasher, plus a plethora of storage and prep space. In contrast to House 2, the country couple included a tall pantry with our Stainless Steel Internal Drawers with Acrylic Bases, allowing easy storage of dry pantry items of various shapes and heights.
