Step inside the impressive Kinsman Master Walk-in Wardrobes on The Block 2023

We’re already halfway through The Block 2023, and what better way to celebrate than to create the Master Bedrooms and Master Walk-in Wardrobes within the houses? As the most important bedrooms within each home, we worked closely with the contestants to produce wardrobe designs that ticked all the boxes. With a focus on style, storage and functionality, each wardrobe showcases a cross-section of what we offer at Kinsman, from beautiful exterior doors and interior finishes to statement handles and an extensive range of storage accessories. 

All the wardrobes were outstanding, but it was Steph and Gian from House 4 who walked away with the win this week (and a ten from judge Marty Fox)- in no small part for their jaw-dropping walk-in robe, which showcased a $20,000 Kinsman upgrade with Hafele accessories!

Kyle and Leslie’s walk in wardrobe is full of style, functionality, and storage solutions. Complementing their chic and neutral master bedroom, the wardrobe has been positioned behind the bedhead wall. Kinsman’s new Arched Fascia Panels in Oak Woodgrain with Black Frame Glass Shelves are visible from the bedroom, adding to the beauty of the space. The galley-style layout features FX Series White Cement doors teamed with new White Ova Pull handles for a sleek and modern look.

The walk in robe includes a wealth of hanging space as well as shelves and our new soft-close metal side Matrix Drawers. A combination of open and closed storage allows for ease of access and privacy where required. The makeup vanity is a welcome addition, the desk featuring serene green tones thanks to the Silestone Posidonia Green surface. A clever lighting scheme which mixes Vertical Strip Lighting and LED Light Bars adds to the luxury of the space.

“Your walk-in robe is fantastic, with lots of storage too,” read host Scott Cam. “The cabinetry is really beautiful, and the handles are excellent.” Shaynna Blaze continued the praise. “Kinsman have done the most beautiful job,” she said. “The quality here… this is beautiful. I love it!”

Brimming with walk in wardrobe ideas, Leah and Ash’s galley-style wardrobe flows on from their Master Suite and makes a bold style statement. Complementing graphic magenta wallpaper, the pairs selection of our new leather-like Nero Pelle doors and Black Aluminium Framed Acrylic cabinets with integrated handles elevates the look, providing a sleek chic focal point within the design.

The judges were quick to find a lot that they liked within the wardrobe, even if they weren’t huge fans of the burgundy wall dressing. “I love these, these are beautiful,” Shaynna said, referring to the Black Frame Glass Shelves, “I like everything I see in here.” The judges also were also quick to compliment the leather-like Nero Pelle doors which are new to the Kinsman Wardrobes range which evoke the look and texture of leather, adding the perfect amount of luxury to the space. 

Evoking a boutique feel, the contents of the wardrobes are displayed beautifully within the joinery, illuminated by Verti-Strip Lighting, with the linen-look of the Grey Textile internals softening the overall scheme. Additions such as a makeup station with an elegant grey quartzite-inspired desk, and a Folding Mirror in Anthracite, work side by side the traditional storage solutions of hanging space, open shelving, and soft-close drawers.

Flowing on from their cosy and calming Master Bedroom, Kristy and Brett produced a luxury walk in closet. Making the most of a generous galley-style floor plan, the spacious design offers hanging space, storage shelves, and soft-close drawers. Volcanic Black Matt cabinetry and Black Aluminium Framed Acrylic doors with integrated handles are lit by LED Verti-Strip lighting, contrasting against warm Oak Woodgrain timber-look internals.

“This is the same cabinetry that we saw in the previous house, but against the timber it really lightens it,” explained Marty Fox. “It gives it that sense of just being in a room that you want to get ready in.”

Beyond its striking good looks, storage and organisation is available in spades thanks to the clever walk-in wardrobe design. A selection of our premium storage accessories feature throughout the design. The inclusion of a Folding Mirror in Anthracite, FX Trouser Rack Pull-out in Black, Pull-out Scarf Rack, and Pull-out Tie + Belt Rack, ensure that getting ready each day is a joy in House 3.

Making the most of 37 square metres- the biggest master bedroom and walk-in robe in The Block’s history- Steph and Gian have created a winning walk-in wardrobe that dreams are made of! The only house to include an island bench, the design is a masterclass in style and storage. The large-scale U-shaped layout maximises cabinetry and storage, the central island bench taking centre stage. Topped in a stunning marble-look mineral surface from Cosentino, the island provides additional storage space thanks to several soft-close drawers featuring a series of Häfele Accessory Trays. “Some people don’t have kitchen island benches as big as this,” said Shaynna.

Kinsman’s New Platinum Metallic doors create a luxe feel as you enter the space, and the contrasting internal colour of the Oak Woodgrain timber-look finish ties both the joinery and the benchtops together with the moody textures. Leather Dark Brown Pull and Strap wardrobe door handles complete the look. “Luxury, luxury, luxury,” exclaimed Shaynna. “From the size, the scale, the vintage bag- they’ve nailed it!”

The design includes Black Frame Glass Shelves on each side of the makeup station which also features a Häfele Mirror. The shelving creates the perfect place to display handbags and favourite accessories, while behind closed doors a wealth of hanging space, soft-close drawers, and clever storage solutions such as the impressive Rotating Shoe Rack ensures that keeping the wardrobe organised is a breeze. As the winners of the $20,000 Kinsman Wardrobe upgrade, Steph and Gian have created a standout wardrobe that provides the very best in high quality storage accessories.

“I really am genuinely blown away by the product that Kinsman delivered,” smiled Steph. “Throughout the whole process, working with the team there, they were open to all of our ideas, and it was great to collaborate with them on it,” added Gian.

With a fresh take on a classic monochromatic look, Eliza and Liberty produced a beautifully appointed walk-in wardrobe that celebrates form and function. New Grigio Pelle leather-like doors create a modern and elegant aesthetic against the rich Estella Oak Matt internals. Our new Black Hyde Leather Strap handles with Brass Button add to the luxe look.

“The wardrobe literally ticks all the boxes for functionality”, read Scott Cam. “The combination of drawers and the dressing table is in the right spot”. “It’s meeting a market,” continued Marty. “The rooms are getting a bit better, and better, and better. I’m really liking what they’re doing.”

Wardrobe storage is a focus within the design, as seen in the considered mixture of hanging space, open shelving, and soft-close drawers, as well as several accessories including Häfele’s FX Trouser Rack Pull-out in Black, and a Folding Mirror in Anthracite. Thoughtful design details ensure that this robe stands out from the crowd. This includes the exposed open shelving and wardrobe inserts on view as you enter the space where favourite accessories can be displayed while illuminated by Vertical Strip Lighting. The makeup station is another highlight, topped in Silestone Blanco Maple from Cosentino.
